Rich Medina is a well-known DJ who, in the thirty-plus years since he spun his first record, has turned his love for music into a celebrated career as a platinum-selling record producer, recording artist, poet and journalist.

For nearly three decades, Rich Medina has traveled the world, engaging global audiences with his highly acclaimed audio-visual performances.

During that time he has accumulated numerous professional achievements, which include establishing the JUMP N FUNK original Afrobeat party in 2001 which has led to spirited intellectual debate and fostered artistic and cultural engagement for audiences both here in the United States and abroad, including Tokyo, Brussels, London, and Amsterdam.

In addition, Mr. Medina successfully archived media and materials from JUMP N FUNK events in order to provide access to the growing audience of Afrobeat listeners, musicians, and other cultural producers for generations to come. Further, Mr Medina was named as the first alumnus of Cornell University to join the advisory board for The Cornell Hip Hop Collection (CHHC), a division of the Rare and Manuscript Collections of the University Library, allowing access to cultural artifacts that were previously in danger of being lost or destroyed.
